1.
Database To Backup Field
Database – Click on the drop down arrow to display the databases available for you to backup. Select the database you wish to backup.
2.

Database – Complete – Visionary OFFICE™ PM automatically defaults to the Database – Complete option. This option indicates all information associated with your practice is backed up. Leave this option selected to perform a backup.
3.
Destination
Drive – The Destination drive defaults. For Full SQL installations ONLY, select the drive where your SQL server is located. Click the down arrow to display the drives available on your computer if this is necessary. If you are running either MSDE 7.0 or MSDE 2000, do NOT change the drive destination, accept the default selection.
Folder – The folder selected here is the destination folder or the folder where your backed up information is to be kept. The most common path location for users of MSDE2000 and Full SQL is - C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Backup\. The most common path location for MSDE 7.0 is - C:\ProgramFiles\MSSQL7\Backup.
Backup File Name – The Backup File Name is defaulted to, in this order, the name of the database, the date (yyyy/dd/mm), and the time (hh/mm/ss).
Zip The Backup For Higher Compression – The checkmark in the box is the default. It is best to accept the default to have the data zipped for higher compression.

When the backup is complete, remember to copy the entire destination folder onto an outside storage source, such as a CD, or a Zip Disk. Consult your hardware personnel as to what storage media best suits your office.
After you have completed a backup or simply wish to exit the backup feature, click the CANCEL button to exit out of the Backup Data Tab. Clicking this button closes the window.
